About Us
A Passion for Craft
Richard, our founding woodwright, grew up in a house under constant remodeling where he helped his father with everything from framing, to drywall, cabinetry, and even electrical, and plumbing. But his favorite times and memories were making pieces of furniture, and learning the skills of woodworking from his dad.
Having honed his woodworking skills into a craft, and developed his own style over more than 20 years, Richard is more than capable of turning your desire for handcrafted furniture into reality. At Heartwood & Wright, we don’t mass produce anything. Nor do we white label items made by others. We’re locals, using our own hands to create with intention and a passion for quality you can pass on to your great-grandchildren.
A Love of Nature
Our style is certainly inspired by the rugged landscape of the Rocky Mountains, but our process is further refined by our deep love of nature and respect for the environment. We strive to keep waste to a minimum, and use only VOC-free durable finishes. All the lumber we use is sustainable harvested, much of it locally sourced.
A Commitment to Quality
Fine handmade furniture takes time to be sure, but more importantly it takes intention, and a commitment to approach every measurement, cut, and each step of the process with deliberate care. Furniture from Heartwood & Wright is built with the intention of filling your home with comfort for generations.
